Two of the last remaining landmarks of the old Harvard Square, a tiny lunch counter called The Tasty and a larger restaurant called the Wursthaus, were torn down last year. Throughout the demolition and redevelopment process, the developer (Cambridge Savings Bank) held out some hope that The Tasty would be allowed to set up shop again in the redeveloped building, but this was not to be. This feels to be part of the general yuppification of Cambridge that has accelerated since the defeat of rent control.
