Now that there is a casino within easy driving distance (Foxwood Casino in Connecticut), Boston and Massachusetts are becoming consumed with casino envy. One major obstacle to legalized gambling was removed when anti-gambling Attorney General Scott Harshbargar was replaced by Tom Reilly, who allowed as he was "not morally opposed" to casino gambling. The "driving to Connecticut" reference has to do with New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft, who announced recently that he would be moving his team to Hartford, after his attempts to strong-arm first the City of Boston into building him a stadium on the waterfront, and then the Commonwealth of Massachusetts into paying him a not-small fortune to keep him in the state, both fell through.
